My favorite poses to photograph {2019 Recap}

What photographs best has been and always will be you. It’s really that simple. My main goal in any photo shoot is to capture my clients’ personality. I look to create an environment where people feel comfortable to not just be themselves but to express that on film. It’s not really about the poses. It’s not about any kind of superficial beauty. It’s about a deep inner beauty. I photograph healers, space holders, reiki practitioners. And yes, I’ll ask you about upcoming workshops and events to make sure we capture back bends if you’re running a heart opening workshop, but mostly the world just wants to see you. That said, there are poses I go back to often, that I keep in my back pocket, because the shapes they create speak to me. And there are new variations and poses that clients bring to me that are fun and exciting. So, here are my favorites from this past year, gathered in this one little blog post, with the huge caveat that it’s really not about the poses at all.

Thank you to all of my clients featured in this post. Their sites are linked below with their photographs if you want to give them some digital love.

I love this wild thing / side plank variation. Wild thing has always been one of my go to images for the curves and lines it creates. {Kimberly D’Alesio at Kripalu}

Westwood, MA Yoga Photo Shoot {w/ Lauren Leonard}

After our yoga teacher training mini date was frozen out {I want to say it was in the single digits}, Lauren and I opted to meet up on a much warmer day for a quick yoga mini at the beautiful Hale Reservation in Westwood, MA. Here is a place I would love to go back to both personally to hike and professionally to photograph. If that woodsy vibe is your thing, let me know because it would be great to venture around this place. For now, enjoy some previews from my yoga mini shoot with Lauren Leonard. And to learn more about her, check out her website, www.laurenleonardhealth.com. Lauren is a yoga teacher and running coach and an incredibly kind person that you definitely want to know.

Westwood, MA Yoga Photo Shoot {W/ Deb Mareb}

I had the pleasure of photographing Deb Mareb, the owner of Yoga of Yarmouth Port {that’s the Cape for those of you not local} just days before it opened. Deb and I are in Jacqui Bonwell’s 500 hour yoga teacher training program and when I reached out to those who had signed up for minis when the forecast showed that it would be in just single digit weather, Deb was like, I’m in. We’re good. And sure enough, she showed up in flip flops and owned it. Deb, a huge congratulations to you on the opening of your beautiful new studio! I cannot wait to come visit it. To learn more about Deb and her beautiful space, please visit her at yogaofyarmouthport.com. Enjoy!

The Yoga Effect: A Proven Program for Depression and Anxiety {by Liz Owen and Holly Lebowitz Rossi, Photographed by Tracy Rodriguez}

Drum roll please…

TheYogaEffect_lgBook.jpg

Last summer, I posted about working on a secret project. I am excited to announce today that I had the honor of photographing a book by authors Liz Owen and Holly Lebowitz Rossi. The Yoga Effect: A Proven Program for Depression and Anxiety is available now for pre-order on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. I am personally so excited to read this book. As a yoga practitioner, teacher and photographer, I have seen the benefits of the yoga practice time and again and look forward to diving deeper into the sequences and guidance from this book. Below you can view some previews of the photography I shot for the book.
