Borrowed & Blue - Urban Winter Wedding in Boston By Tracy Rodriguez Photography

Boston Wedding Photography by Tracy Rodriguez Photography

As luck would have it, just a week before Gabrielle and Cesar's wedding day, Gabrielle happened to see my post of Matt and Barbara's proposal at JP Centre Yoga and loved the look, feel and energy of the shots. She and Cesar had not planned to have a photographer at their wedding day, keeping it small at Boston City Hall and then Toro in the South End with a few close family and friends. I am so glad they saw that engagement session, contacted me, and that I was available on their day because I absolutely love these two. They were so fun to work with and all about the meaning of their wedding day, saying their vows to marry their best friend. And happily ever after. You can call me corny, but there is really nothing like witnessing a love this deep. And, lucky me again, when Cesar's cousin planned his wedding, they also contacted me to photograph their big day. {You can see Vanessa and Edin's wedding on the blog here.} So naturally I was thrilled to hear that Borrowed & Blue wanted to feature their gorgeous South End wedding. Take a look for the amazing details like her BHLDN dress, and a DIY bouquet that her mother made, rivaling any purchased bridal bouquet in my book!

If you'd like to read more about their wedding day, you can see Gabrielle and Cesar's Wedding Blog Post for all the details including a full list of vendors.

West Roxbury and Norwood, MA Wedding {Erika and Jose}

Something magical started happening last year and has been really abundant with my wedding clients this year and I'm almost nervous to jinx it by writing about it here but I just have to share. I have been contacted by the most amazing people to photograph their weddings in a much more intimate sense. While most of my weddings average around eight hour of coverage, starting in the morning and ending after dinner, I've now photographed six weddings in just one to four hours. And while I was at first scared of missing the getting ready moments and little details, I have found instead that I have had the most amazing time with these couples, focusing mainly on the bride and groom to capture their love and those amazing wedding day smiles and intimate moments. In a shorter time frame, I am often gifted {yes, gifted} a full hour or more with just the couple. I wish I could express in words how incredibly amazing having a full hour is on a wedding day. For Erika and Jose, I first met up with them to photograph their ceremony at Saint John Chrysosotom Parish in West Roxbury as well as portraits with their immediate family members and religious sponsors and then scooped them up to a pretty amazing hidden gem in West Roxbury, a lone fishing pier. I have driven by this pier several times and have been dreaming of photographing a couple there so when Erika and Jose told me the location of their church {just 1/2 mile down the road} I recommended that we go there. For a full hour, the couple laughed and danced and walked around and I was able to capture so much pure love. I finished the day at their dinner at BonCaldo Restaurant in Norwood, MA to grab some shots with their closest friends and family, and of course some of their rings on various fun props that were meaningful to the couple. These two were an absolute blessing to work with, always smiling, so kind, so genuine and so in love. I cannot wait for you to see all of these beautiful photographs of these two amazing people, now husband and wife.

Cambridge, MA Yoga and Barre Photo Shoot at Barre & Soul Harvard {w/ Whitney Fitzpatrick}

Whitney Fitzpatrick Yoga Boston

You may remember my 2015 New Year's post card and this gorgeous yogi, Whitney Fitzpatrick! {And yes, noted, I dropped the ball on creating one this year. I'm only human. Next year ... I hope} Needless to say, I was thrilled when Whitney reached out this year to create a follow-up photo shoot because I absolutely adore her and love working together. This time, Whitney introduced me to barre as well as yoga and while I usually make a strong case of not being a "fitness photographer" but rather a "yoga photographer" this photo session made me want to add barre to the mix. I have yet to go to a class {it's on my list .. I no longer fear it} and I absolutely loved the introduction that Whitney gave me. There was so much grace both in her movement and in her stillnessAnd, yes, of course, a lot of that comes from Whitney herself but I am thrilled to be shooting a few more barre sessions in the near future. Whitney's smile, also thrills me every time and you'll see that shine through in the images below. We were lucky to photograph at Barre & Soul Harvard because it's absolutely delightful. It's a photographer's dream with gorgeous wood floors, large windows with ample window light bouncing around the white walls and a unique and thoughtfully curated style. The mural wall had me drooling and all of the plants and terrariums hanging from the ceilings were absolutely breathtaking. Oh, and there's a teal piano to boot! If I lived in the area, I'd probably be at this studio every day if only to meditate in the beauty ... and of course to take yoga and barre classes with their amazing instructors. Now, enough of me ooo-ing and aww-ing, take a look at some of my favorite photographs from our yoga and barre photo shoot earlier this month.

Whitney currently teaches at Barre and Soul Melrose and Harvard Square locations as well as Lexington Power Yoga (Barre & Soul) and she subs at YogaWorks Comm Ave and Back Bay {formally Back Bay Yoga and Sweet & Soul Yoga}.

Whitney's hair was done by the uber talented Amanda Andella who also teaches at Barre and Soul. I may have drooled a little over this braid crown she whipped up in just a few minutes. Brides, message me for her details! Imagine what she can do with even more time and prep!

Boston, MA Yoga Photo Shoot at Harvard Business School {with Emilka}

It's that time of year! College graduation season! Emilka contacted me to schedule a yoga photo shoot to preserve her memories from her time at Harvard. First off, I have to say a huge congratulations to her on completing her MBA from Harvard Business School! She will be walking in their graduation later this month. What an accomplishment! Emilka is originally from the Czech Republic and wanted to capture her time in Boston at her home here, her campus. This is my first time shooting at Harvard Business School and wow! It was absolutely gorgeous! Who knew this oasis was tucked into Allston, right by the water?! The brick buildings, the budding spring trees, the Harvard crest, and yes, even the Charles River, all provided the most amazing backdrops! It was so New England, so Boston, so Harvard, and so her! {And by the way, I would come back here to shoot in a hot second so if you, reader, are interested, please let me know!} Emilka was so much fun to work with and totally full of smiles and grace. I am so glad I got to know her. Now, take a look at some of my favorites from our session and wish Emilka luck in the next steps in her journey as a Harvard Business School grad!
