Erin and Brian's Narragansett beach wedding this past summer was absolutely picturesque. From the beautiful, tranquil ocean and sky to the sandy beach and warm sea air, this day couldn't have been dreamt up any better. And to top it off, Erin, Brian, their son Brayden, and their family and friends were all so incredible to work with.

This couple actually reached out after I photographed their cousin's Loon Pond Lodge wedding in Lakeville, MA last year {thanks for the referral, Morgan + Justin!} and I am so glad that they did because we had such a fun time working together. From our consultation {where Brayden actually played video games with my husband while we met!} to their Scarborough Beach engagement session, I loved every minute of fun and laughs with this family.

Their wedding day was nothing short of perfect, with the ceremony on the green under the gazebo and their reception at The Towers, right on the shoreline. And for everyone drooling over Erin's dress, I'm so excited to share that this stunning piece was made by none other than Brian's mom! Susan Troy is an incredible wedding dress designer and I highly recommend reaching out if you're in the market for a beautiful wedding dress. The delicate lace top and open back had my jaw dropped from the moment I saw it. How special to have your mother-in-law make your dress!

I could not be more excited to share this beautifully serene summer wedding with you! Enjoy!

Narragansett, RI Engagement Session on Scarborough Beach {Erin + Brian + Braiden}

Amazingly, in the midst of the heat wave earlier this week, the weather cooled down for one night, providing the perfect temperature, a light breeze, a calm ocean, and that golden beachy evening light that seems to last forever. It was truly the perfect day to photograph Erin and Brian's engagement session with their son, Braiden. Erin and Brian are getting married next month at The Towers in Narragansett, RI and we photographed their engagement session just down the road at Scarborough Beach. With such amazing weather, all of the beaches were packed full of families enjoying the day, but we were lucky to find a little alcove with flat sand, beautiful rocks and a distant jetty as our backdrop. I had such a great time photographing these three because they are so fun loving and cheerful and totally up for getting their feet wet and just enjoying the time together. I cannot wait for their big day next month! Until then, enjoy some previews from their engagement session!

On Stopping the glorification of busy {A day in Newport, RI}

My husband and I took an impromptu day trip to Newport, RI on Thursday to enjoy a mini vaca. We walked down the famous Thames Street - note my camera was mostly in my bag for that part because I was pretty busy shopping, drinking Del's lemonade and snacking on Inpopnito Newport Cheddar Popcorn. :) We then visited The Breakers mansion right on the coast. The incredible thing was that we were so mesmerized by the beautiful grounds and amazing coastline view that we actually started our tour with a good half hour of laying on the grass, enjoying the weather and views. {Don't worry, it's allowed. There were actually many families picnicking and relaxing all around on the lawns.} My husband is a great influence on me - I used to be the type to want to rush right in, grab my headset and get in as much culture and information as possible. Now, {also thanks to yoga teacher training} I am in love with just being in the moment, enjoying the weather and the views. Laying on the grass with no agenda felt pretty incredible. We eventually made our way inside and it was really fascinating to learn about the Vanderbilt family.  I never knew that Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney was a pretty amazing sculptor and founded the Whitney Museum. They even had a few of her pieces on display which were pretty cool to see! If you're a big Downton Abbey fan like I am, you'd love these tours as well. We ended our day with a drive down the coast line, stopping of course for a few photographs. Here are some from our day! Enjoy!

Pawtucket, RI Wedding of Lali & Kati

{Back Blog} - Wedding Date: June 21, 2014

Location: Slater Museum, Pawtucket, RI

Lali & Kati are two of the most in love people I have ever photographed. They met during Pride 5 years ago and celebrated their wedding during Pride 2014, still just as smitten as the day they met. They are incredibly affectionate and incredibly kind.

Every detail of this completely vegan wedding was handmade by the brides with care, from the bouquets to the centerpieces.

And, at the end of the night, a young man walked by the outside of the venue with a rainbow flag in his hands and told us he had just been celebrating all day at Pride. The brides immediately invited him over for photos and a cupcake! It was the perfect way to end the evening.

Congratulations to Lali & Kati! So much love to you both!

Huge shout out to all of the vendors that made this day possible!
