Borrowed & Blue - Sweet Home Nuptials in Cambridge By Tracy Rodriguez Photography

One of the most amazing things happens at intimate weddings like this one, I get to spend quality, uninterrupted time with the bride and groom. Lots of it. Sometimes even a full hour just for portraits. And if you've ever worked on a wedding day planner, you'll understand just how much time that is. Not only does the couple get time for just the two of them {well, three of us I should say but often I'm way away shooting telephoto just suggesting little directions from time to time} but they also get to be more relaxed for portraits because we aren't trying to squeeze them in in 20 minutes. It's relaxing for them and photographs like a dream for me. Now, you add in two of the most genuine, kind hearted, gorgeous people, a charming Cambridge backdrop and the love and support of their closest friends and family and you get this beautiful day. I was thrilled to photograph it because working with two lovely lovebirds like Mariana and Michael was exactly why I got into wedding photography from the start.

If you'd like to read more about their wedding day, you can see Mariana and Michael's Cambridge Wedding Blog Post for all the details including a full list of vendors.

I photograph weddings to see love like this. Mariana and Michael were absolutely amazing to work with; they were so kind and sweet and fun on their wedding day, but I mainly loved working with them so much because they were also so genuine and so in love. They held each other's hands tightly, leaned their heads into each other genuinely, and made each other smile, laugh and fill with emotion without any queueing on my side. We found a lattice covered walkway in front of a charming Cambridge home as well as a brick path to provide the backdrops for their portraits. This gorgeous couple photographed like a dream and I especially loved Mariana's BHLDN dress and Winston Flowers bridal bouquet.

Mariana and Michael had an intimate wedding, held at a private residence in Cambridge, MA. Their officiant, Carola Eisenberg, a close family friend, is a remarkable woman. Not only was she as kind and genuine as the couple on their wedding day but I also learned that she has been heavily involved in human rights work and cofounded Physicians for Human Rights which received a Nobel Peace Prize! For all of her amazing accomplishments, she was incredibly humble and so vested in solidifying the love between Mariana and Michael. It was hard not to tear up during their intimate ceremony, watching these two say their vows to become husband and wife.

Cambridge, MA Wedding at Technology Square and Area Four Restaurant {Vanessa and Edin}

My favorite thing about photographing weddings is that each one is completely unique. Well, okay fine, my favorite thing is actually that I get to meet and work with so many incredible people and step into their lives for this amazing time - but that really leads into the first part because each wedding is custom crafted by the couple. For Edin and Vanessa, I was actually only with them for one hour on their wedding day but as you'll see from the photographs below, that was the perfect amount of time to come in and capture some insanely gorgeous portraits of this amazing couple and their family and friends. Vanessa and Edin must have had a karma on their side because this December wedding day was unseasonably warm. These two were naturals, completely romantic and adorable. I loved their blush and grey pallet complete with a gorgeous Winston Flowers bouquet and how Edin made Vanessa laugh when the wind blew her hair all about.

As you scroll down you may recognize two familiar faces, Gabrielle and Cesar, from their winter wedding in South Boston earlier in the year. Cesar is Edin's cousin and Gabby was the one who put me in contact to photograph Edin and Vanessa's big day. Don't you just love when things come full circle? I love working with this incredibly sweet family so I hope to photograph many more weddings in the future! Enjoy!
