Giverny, Saint-Émilion and Aubeterre, France Captured by Tracy Rodriguez {Prints Available for Purchase}

Normally when you click over to my blog, you'll see photographs of yogis all around Boston and couples saying their I do's, but today I want to share with you a personal trip I took with my husband Thomas two years ago to the south of France. It's been completely lovely to revisit these images after so much time has passed. The main focus of the trip was for our friend's wedding, my husband was the best man, but of course {insert French accent here, anyone?} I couldn't leave my camera behind.

{And, if you know me well, you'll know that I don't bring my camera, or even take out my phone for that matter, when I attend weddings as a guest. Research actually shows that you remember events better when you're not behind your camera or phone. I always want to be fully present. And, let's be honest, I don't want to get in the photographer's way either. I'd rather he or she document the bride and groom without a sea of phones and cameras and if I'm being photographed, I'd rather it be of me laughing or tearing up than holding a phone in front of my face. But, I digress.}

Without further ado, please enjoy some photographs from our trip. You can click any image below to enlarge it and then tab through to view more while still enlarged. And if you'd like to make a purchase, prints are available for sale in the gallery linked below.

We arrived in Paris with mostly wedding events so my camera stayed tucked away in the city of love, but, my personal request for the trip was for Thomas and I to sneak off one morning to Monet's Gardens in Giverny. You'll see a few photographs from that excursion to start. While it's set up as a major tourist attraction now, it was still pretty incredible to see Monet's home and his famous water lilies.

The scenic view shots take us south with a quick stop in Saint-Émilion for lunch. We then traveled to our main destination in Aubeterre-sur-Dronne, Chateau Le Mas de Montet. Most of my photographs are of this beautiful castle and quaint town.  Even if only for a short while, it was definitely an unforgettable experience to live in a chateau in the south of France.

Where have you all been traveling lately? Are you like me and have images from years past? I encourage you to dig them up and relive a bit of your wanderlust.

Much love,

Tracy

TEAM Tracy Rodriguez Photography is coming to Yogathon 2018!!

Yogathon 2013

As many of you know, I have been involved with an incredible nonprofit, Yoga Reaches Out, for the last six years. Each year I have committed to fundraising, to introducing the organization to more and more friends and family, to joining their committee, and, last year to forming my first ever team for New England Yogathon! This year, I am excited to say that I am again forming a team and I would love to have you on it!

Yogathon 2012

If you've been there you know, there is just something absolutely incredible about this day. The collective energy in the room of 1,000 giving, like-minded, beautiful people is palpable. I look forward to this day like a kid waiting for Christmas.

To give you a bit of background, each participant is asked to raise a minimum of $250 for Boston Children's Hospital. And through those donations along with sponsorships, I am so proud to say that this event has funded an incredible wellness center for the families and loved ones at Boston Children's Hospital, providing yoga, reiki, massage, and more.

Along with the personal goal that I set for myself each year of $1,000 in fundraising, I am adding to that the goal of gathering people to join Team Tracy Rodriguez Photography for a day of yoga with a purpose! So please mark your calendars for Sunday, April 29th, at Gillette Stadium (Foxboro, MA)!

If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at tracy@thrgallery.com or call me at 203.984.0013.

And, you can view, download and print photographs from previous years here.

Maternity Leave Update!

Hi friends! It's been a while so I thought I'd write a quick post to check in and let you all know how we've been doing.

My little baby Mateo is quickly approaching six months at the end of February and I can hardly believe it. We have been enjoying all of the newborn snuggling (although, I'm not allowed to call him that any more now that he's passed three months!) Having this time together has been truly amazing. Watching his development has been one of the most fascinating experiences of my life. And his little smiles and laughs and cuddles are so completely rewarding.

I have decided to extend my maternity break with him for the time being. Do continue to reach out as I have been keeping a list of those to reach back out to when I start shooting again. I will likely ease back in in the warmer weather. And of course, if you've already booked a wedding, have no fear, I will be there. I'm just not taking any more on for the time being. I promise to stay in touch here on my blog and on facebook and instagram when I have updates for you.

Lots of love,

Tracy

Tracy Rodriguez Photography Wins Wedding Wire Couple's Choice Awards Four Years In A Row!

Boston Wedding Photographer Award

Wow! Thank you to all of my amazing wedding clients for helping me win the 2018 WeddingWire Couples Choice Award!

As many of you know, I welcomed my son Mateo into the world in August and therefore my wedding season was pretty short last year. Needless to say, I was not expecting this award this year given the shorter season. So, wow, just wow! Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review based on your intimate wedding / elopement or full day wedding. Your reviews continue to make such a difference for my business via things like this award! Thank you! And while this year will also be a bit slower as I navigate my new work-life balance, I am so excited to work with all of my 2018 clients!

Don't worry, if you haven't yet submitted a review for your wedding, now is a great time to do so! If you have a moment, please post one to Wedding Wire and help me to continue to grow organically.

About the Couples’ Choice Awards®

The WeddingWire Couples' Choice Awards recognize the top 5% of local wedding professionals on WeddingWire that demonstrate excellence in quality, service, responsiveness, and professionalism. Winners are selected solely based on reviews from more than a million newlyweds and are determined by a combination of excellence in four factors: overall rating, total number of reviews, review performance from 2017, and consistency of reviews from year to year.

Now is a great time to submit a review! Wedding couples, please post to Wedding Wire.

Yogis and all other clients, please post to Google Reviews.

Welcome, Mateo!

Please welcome to the world my little peanut, Mateo Thomas Forbes! He was born on August 25, 2017, sharing my late grandfather's birthday. We couldn't be more thrilled to have him here, sleepless nights and all. And while I've retreated into my "baby bubble" for a while, I promise to be back, posting all kinds of cuteness in the near future.

Thank you all foryour patience as I return emails a bit slower than usual. For questions on my maternity leave and what that means for photo shoots, take a look at my Maternity Leave Blog Post.

With so much love,

Tracy

Maternity Leave - Be in Touch!

I am writing this post as I prep for my very last photo shoot before our baby boy is expected to arrive. It's hard to believe that it's already August and my maternity leave is just about to start!

I thought it would be helpful to share my game plan for those of you interested in shooting together. I've been asked more times than I'd like if I am going to be coming back to work and the answer is 100% yes! The only TBD is the exact timing. It will all depend on when our little guy decides to make his arrival and how my recovery and new family time goes. That said, I expect to come back to shooting in a limited capacity this fall and to return full time in the spring. Here's what this means for...

Yogis - Reach out! I know the fall is a really popular time for photographs. If you're interested in shooting outside this fall, please contact me and let me know. {If you fill out this yoga photo shoot prep form, that will definitely help get the process started.} I have a list of yogis and studios to reach out to as soon as I know my schedule for the fall and will be happy to add you to that list. I will be going based on a first-come (to email) first-serve basis so don't delay if you know you'd like to work together this year. And, if you know you're looking for an indoor only session, please indicate that as those shoots will be given priority for late November and December when we can no longer shoot outside comfortably.

Branding Clients - Same goes as for my yogis! If you're looking for an indoor session, I will be able to accommodate that this year in November or December and into 2017. If you're looking for an outdoor session, definitely still reach out. {You can fill out this branding photo shoot prep form to get the planning started.}

Families - I hope to be able to offer my Fall Family Mini Sessions this year in mid-November. {Perhaps November 11+12, 2017.} Please follow my Facebook page and check back here on my blog for updates. Families who have participated in previous years will be given a 24 hour advanced notice sign up advantage before they go to the masses. Note that these do usually sell out very quickly and I will do my best to accommodate everyone should it work for me to return to shooting in the fall.

Intimate and Full Day Weddings - Contact me as usual to set up a consultation. I anticipate being able to shoot intimate weddings starting again this fall and am booking full day weddings for 2018.

Communication - The best way to contact me is via email at tracy@thrgallery.com. Either directly or via my contact me form on my website. While not on maternity leave, I always respond within 24 hours. While on maternity, let's be honest, who knows... :) In all seriousness, I will do my best to balance my new family life with my amazing work life and return your emails in a timely fashion. Messages that come in via facebook messenger, facebook comment or instagram messenger are easily missed and therefore may not be responded to in a timely fashion so please do use email when possible.

Thank you all so much for all of the love and well wishes that have been coming in. They mean more to me and my family than you know. So here's all that love, right back atcha!

xo,
Tracy

Boy oh boy! My biggest news yet!

I am very excited to share a personal update on the blog today. My husband and I are expecting a baby boy! My little photo assistant is due in late August!

 Baby Boy at 18 weeks!

Baby Boy at 18 weeks!

What does this mean for 2017 clients? For now, business as usual. I am still meeting, booking, shooting, editing and delivering as usual.

{In fact, if you've been meaning to reach out to schedule a photo shoot, please do!}

My plan is to shoot until early August, and then return to shooting in late October. I will be sure to keep you posted here on my blog as well as on my Facebook page.

What does this mean for 2018 clients? I plan to have a full shooting schedule in 2018.

For all of you mom-entrepreneurs out there, especially those of you who work from home, I'd love your advice on managing work and family.

Thank you for all of the love and support! I cannot tell you how appreciative I am of each and every one of you.

Love, Tracy

Three Years Full Time!

Boston Yoga Photographer

I have to admit, things have been running business as usual around here for so long that it took a Facebook memory status this morning to remind me that today marks THREE FULL YEARS running Tracy Rodriguez Photography full time!

I started shooting in 2000, went to yoga teacher training in 2011 - which changed my life (career perspective, life goals, general outlook) - and I started shooting yoga photography directly following. I added on wedding photography in 2013 and then in early 2014, I left my corporate marketing job to run this business with all of my might.

I have loved every second of it, yes, even the grueling number crunching and tedious tasks, because they all add up to me being able to pursue this passion of mine full time.

I am so grateful to all of you, my clients, my fans and followers, my supporters. Please know that I think of you daily and appreciate everything you give. So, from my heart, know I love you. And I thank you.

And if you're in that place, looking to find a way to make your passion your career, know that you can do it. I promise. You have everything it takes. Feel free to comment below for some inspiration or message me any time. I've got your back.

Here's to another year at Tracy Rodriguez Photography!

Namaste.

Tracy

PS - Hey fellow business owners! How do you celebrate your successes? I'll be honest, I typically don't. I may mention something to my husband, mom or sister on the phone. I definitely smile ear to ear. Perhaps I do a little blog shout out here and there. But, in a work from home, one woman show, it's hard to have, say, a team dinner celebration. So what do you do? I'd love to know!

TEAM Tracy Rodriguez Photography is coming to Yogathon 2017!!

Yogathon 2013

To say that Yoga Reaches Out has touched my heart would be an understatement. As many of you know, I have been involved with this incredible nonprofit for the last five years. Each year I have committed to fundraising, to introducing the organization to more and more friends and family, to joining their committee, and, of course, to photographing the big event, New England Yogathon!

To give you a bit of background, each participant is asked to raise a minimum of $250 for Boston Children's Hospital. And through those donations along with sponsorships, I am so proud to say that this event has donated over $1,000,000! What an amazing accomplishment.

Each year, I have looked to commit more, whether that's bringing in more people, or more fundraising or more awareness and I am so incredibly excited to share that ... drum roll ...

This year, I am creating my own team!

Along with the personal goal that I set for myself each year of $1,000 in fundraising, I am adding to that the goal of gathering at least 25 people to join Team Tracy Rodriguez Photography for a day of yoga with a purpose! So please mark your calendars for Sunday, April 30th, at Gillette Stadium (Foxboro, MA)!
